It's because of the political situation in the middle east. The dangers are too great to make them play in that part of the world, one dodgy offside decision and it would be world war three. By the way, Australia could never play in UEFA tournaments. UEFA stands for the Union of European Football Associations, Israel are the exception, Australia would not be.

We're all multicultural money chasers now so you can play anywhere you can afford to .. I'd rather have peaceful israel supporters then the vicious turks in European competitions.. you never hear about crowd trouble at Spurs.. do you??

Its hard and dangerous for Israel to play in Asia category as u know.
And I do not agree with Hendo. Israel is not same as Türkiye. It would not be problem for us to play in Asia with Iran, Afghanistan or Saudi Arabia. We proved our being European by our successes.

because israel is a part of eufa all eufa teams can play...now the interesting thing is u dont need to be european country to join eufa. if australia wanted they could join and play in the european championship. the thing is they would never want to just because it would make it much more difficult for them to qualify thats why they decided to move to the afc becuase its alot easier to qualify in asia...now israel plays in europe even though its easier to play in asia becuase i dont think they feel to comfortable going into iran iraq afghanastan saudia arabia kuwait lebanon uae for qualifying games considering their not very popular there

The Middle East consists of Muslims. Do you honestly think Saudi Arabia is going to host the Israelis for any kind of athletic events? I don't think so!! ( They should though! )

Because they are members of UEFA. BTW, Turkey is also is Europe so it's not political reasons for their apperance, and Cyprus is also geographically part of Asia.

Maybe because FIFA thought it would be too easy for them to win against the Arabs. They seem to be better at everything else.
