In general people argue because they care and an argue is picking up the problem and try to find out the middle way for both.... and yes sometimes it could be done without raising your voice. But nobody is perfect. Nothing wrong with arguing trying to make your point right, try to make the other understand why it's important to you.....

love is a commitment for better or for worse, for richer or poorer, in sickness and in health. Whether they'll be able to stick it out depends on the individuals character, not the quality or quantity of love. If you had a finger that was giving you trouble, would you cut it off or do all in your power to save it, even if it weren't 100% normal?

I personally believe you don't, I've got several friends who've been together over 30 years and they say the same thing. You become friends and just work through everything else.
