it can happen, and to those two people above who said ur not suppose to have sex and that its gross, they are crazy. theres no reason for it to be gross or unsafe unless ur doctor told u no sex. anyway there is always a chance of ur water breaking during sex. but not necessarily because u were having sex. i think more likely the sex will start contractions before they break ur water.

Sex should not trigger your water to break. It may happen during sex but it is not the cause. The people that said that you can't have sex and that it is gross are crazy!!! I am due to have a baby in 10 days and my dr told me to have lots of sex to help bring on labor. Unless your dr says no sex go for it!! (If you have a watery discharge after, it is normal and is not necessarily your water. If it continues for more than an hour then get it checked out)

As far as I know your water can break whenever you are ready to give birth. It does not matter what you are doing. I don't think sex in any shape or form is going to cause this unless it is time for your child to come, but I could be wrong. If something goes wrong and the birth is sooner than nine months and if it is intended for your water to break it will. My child was born a month and half early, but water never did break.
