The world's largest country was the Soviet Union (Union of Soviet Socialist Republics), until that nation collapsed. Now the largest country is Russia or Russian Federation (one of the former Soviet Union's republics).
It is a huge country extending from the borders of Finland, Poland, Romania, etc. all the way to the northeastern point in the Asian peninsula, passing Saudi Arabia, Iran, India, China, and Mongolia.
The former Soviet Union had a mass of 8.6 million square miles (only 1.9 of this in Europe). Rossiskaja (Russian Federation) has a mass of 6.6 million square miles (only 1.5 of this in Europe).
No other country, including Canada, United States, China, India, and Indonesia comes close to this. Denmark is a tiny country, unless you count Greenland, one of its possessions. But, even then it is not that big.
