You will need to get the license in the jurisdiction where the wedding will take place. That means it has to be done in Texas, and it needs to be done in the specific county where the wedding will take place.

If you want to get your license in Arkansas because it would be more convenient, you could get married by a justice of the peace, minister, or county clerk in Arkansas, and then have an actual ceremony in Texas. Your real wedding that married you would be the one in Arkansas, but the TX one would be the fancier one.

I don't know much about legality, but it seems like things would be much easier to be handled in Arkansas - your state of residence. You can apply for the license in Arkansas and legally be married, but yet have the formal ceremony in Texas. I think it would make things easier when it comes to changing your surname through the social security office in Arkansas, having easy access to a courthouse if you ever need a copy, and god forbid anything should ever happen in the future the divorce could be easily handled in your home state under Arkansas law.
The only thing you'd be missing is actually signing it at your wedding. (I know some couples like to do that). You can fake the signing if you want pictures of it. My sister did that. They had the document on a table and each had a pen in one hand and were holding hands with the other, in their pictures. Though they were already legally married. It was within the same state though. I'm no expert.
Either way it turns out, I hope you have a beautiful wedding, and good luck!

I grew up in Oklahoma and somewhat in Texas. Texas has so plenty extra to furnish while it is composed of great cities and jobs. i've got been with the aid of Tennessee, Ky and the Carolina's and there is not any longer a damned element there worth residing for. Arkansas is quite, yet lower back, the state would not have a good purchase to furnish. i think of Texas is maximum suitable. additionally Texas would not have a state earnings tax. yet why shrink your self to in basic terms those states? Washington is truly quite, and additionally does no longer have a state earnings tax and lots of jobs. (additionally, it would not rain almost as much as maximum persons seem to think of, it actual rains extra in great apple.) California is truly severe high quality, purely high priced. Phoenix is exciting, no longer almost as high priced as California besides the indisputable fact that it is likewise very heat.

.I'm sorry. You'll have to get the license in Texas.
They can't honor one from another state.
That's true with all states.
