I'll be staying near to Osaka JR station, may I know how to go to Shin Osaka station??
It's walking distance (how far is the journey)? Or I need to take a train to reach there?

It's about 3 kilometers from Osaka Station to Shin-Osaka Station. You can take another train directly to Shin-Osaka from Osaka Station. Take the JR Kyoto Line Special Rapid Service or Rapid Service. It connects Osaka and Shin-Osaka.

If you have a shinkansen ticket, use it when you start from JR Osaka station. Find the tracks headed for Shin-Osaka and Kyoto. (the Tokaido San-Yo line)
It's 2 stops (usually) about 4 minutes. Local and express trains all stop at both Shin-Osaka and Osaka.

Don't take a cab, since a shinkansen ticket can get you there for free via JR.
You can't really walk there, as the river between the stations has a bridge that is not very pedestrian friendly (if you have luggage)
You can also take the subway Midosuji line (3 stops), but you have to do more walking at Shin-Osaka.

If you have luggage you can also just take a taxi to your hotel. Just give the name of your hotel to the the taxi driver. Taxi drivers in Japan are honest and will not cheat you.
