Heres the deal, theres this girl i've liked for a while and i've asked her out for this V-Day for a movie. Shes told me before that shes not a big fan of chocolate, nor she doesnt realy like gifts, but a buddy of mine whom shes known for 5 or more years says that she does like gifts from friends. So What do I do? Do I buy a Rose and Chocolate or something little less traditional. She loves color black, shes not gothic, but sometimes kinda seems that way but doesnt worship the devil or non of that stuff shes a christian. So... any ideas? I would realy prefer ladies to answer this questions since they know more about themselves then us guys. I guess you could say i'm trying to impress her so to speak. Im not sure what movie to watch here a list of them Music & Lyrics, Tyler Perrys Daddys Little Girls, Norbit, The Messengers, Because I Said So, Smokin Aces, Night at the Museum. Which of these would be the Best. Thanks in Advance

V's day is usually reserved for people already paired ... not for those trying to get hooked up. Sorry. Asking someone out on a V-day would make them a captive audience, which is not a position anyone wants to be in.

What I'd do at this stage of the game is catch a non-date movie, maybe a light dinner at a not too fancy eatery, and I like the idea of a single rose too .... sort of establishing a non-committal environment, just celebrating a secular commercialistic day together.
Just because you like her, doens't mean she likes you. Don't force her to like you because you give her gifts or treat her well.
It all must come from the heart. Maybe she just doesn't want to get involved at this point. Good luck

Not a girl, but...

Stay away from the chocolate. If she told you she isn't a big fan of it, its a safe bet she doesn't want it as a gift. Give her a single, non-traditional flower, like a Lily. No more than two, at most. It shows a lot more thought than roses. Everybody does roses without thinking about what they are giving or why, just because it is expected. Lilies are elegant and off the norm. She won't be expecting it. Write a small piece of poetry in the card. Don't however go over the top and order a dozen flowers, or the huge teddy bear. That would possibly frighten her on a first date. Every woman is different. they like different things. As to the movie... leave it to her. Every girl likes to laugh, so Norbit and night at the museum would fit the bill there, but every girl likes to know that a guy will go to see a chick-flick, as my wife calls it. I saw Because i said so this weekend and it was a pretty good flick, but Daddys little girls and music&lyrics would also be in line with that.

Just be yourself and let her make the call on the movie. Relax and you both will have a lot more fun than if you are uptight. She will pick up on that, and it won't go anywhere good.

Hope this helps...

I think that you should give her something not traditional, skip out the chocolates ans the rose, she already told you she's not a fan of chocolates, Why don't you try something the 2 of you can enjoy together? A nice diner, music and the movie sounds good. Ask her straight up what she likes, there nothing bad in asking, perhaps that the the gift for her should like her, so Why not asking first to be sure? Ask her what kind of music does she like and give her a CD sang by her favorite group. Give things that she can enjoy for a long time, perhaps that she'll remember you every time she sees it or play it.

Don't buy chocolates if she has told you she doesn't like it. Try flowers. Some girls love the black silk roses. Norbit and Night at the Museum seem like really good movies, but ask her which one she prefers.

When you guys go to the movies ask her to pick the movie. You can get her a single rose. Buy her a box of her favorite candy at the movies. She probably just said that to be modest and to put you at ease. If you get her something small and inexpensive she would really think you're thoughtful.

The best movie is the one SHE decides she wants to see! Let her pick! That way it might give you the idea as to what kind of leisure watching she likes...(future reference...) and yes, get her a chocolate covered rose--they have them in the Valentine section--made by Dove chocolates--in a tall skinny box. It's a flower that wont die...

Maybe try getting her a single rose that is a bit untraditional. No need for gifts in my opinion. She's going to spend time with you and what's important is that you remain yourself and that it's not a tense experience, but smooth.

Buy her a nice card and ask her which movie she'd like to see.
