It's a very competitive market with many players. The leaders this week may not be the same next week. a lot comes down to who is marketing this week. Also if you split by demographics (male/female, young/old) you get different answers. However that said, Chanel No.5 has always in or around top spot, but it takes no more than 2% of market so there's plenty of room. Of the more recent releases Angel and Issey Miyake are popular, especially for under 30s females.
If you're looking for something different, why not create your own bespoke perfume? Once the preserve of rich and famous, it's now quite affordable, see www.studio-xn.co.uk, prices from £60.

The question wasn't too clear, but I'm starting to get more into perfumes lately. I like Hanae Mori. Can't think of any others right now. There's always the classics. J'adore dior, Chanel No. 5, romance by ralph lauren. Victoria's Secret has some good scents. Burberry London seems befitting of the topic's title. There are too many. And a bunch of new ones are just coming out.

I don't really like perfumes that smell of food, but I am guessing lavendar, rose, strawberry, lemon and citrusy smells, and chocolate would be the favourites
