This book series had nothing to do with the underwater Atlantis science fiction/fantasy scenerio. It was a detective style series. The basis was a band of "misfits" put together to fight crime. Each novel was around 200 pages and each installment featured two or three different "misfits". I believe the target audience of the series was aimed at 12-16 yr olds. I had 10-15 novels from the series back in the day and I cannot remember the actual name of the series or the authors name, about the only thing I do remember somewhat clearly is that on every issue of the series the cover drawing was of a man with a major cleft on his chin this character was "the leader" of the group. For some reason Richard keeps popping into my head as the leader's name but I really don't remember. If anyone knows what series I'm talking about please let me know. Thanks!

The only thing I can find is the book series based on the tv show. There may be others, but all that I found were these titles, all by Richard Woodley:

#1 Man From Atlantis, 1977
#2 Death Scouts (or Deathscouts), 1977
#3 Killer Spores, 1978
#4 Ark of Doom, 1978

#? Sea Kill, 1977: The first mission for Mark Harris - the last citizen of the lost city of Atlantis & now a underwater secret agent. I think this is the UK title for #1.
