ok. so, I heard this myth about if you take Zinc, your brain will react to it, thus making the brain smarter, and think faster, etc. Is this true? I saw this on Kron 4 News, but I didn't see the whole thing, so I don't know the details to it. But I know that they said Zinc helps your brain a lot. Is it true that if you take zinc pills you get smarter?

Yes. A study was done recently that showed that performance was improved for the test group versus the group that did not get a zinc supplement. This is not really surprising since zinc has been used for some time now for people that suffer from Alzheimer's disease, and it is well known that zinc boosts many enzyme systems. But don't expect much of an IQ boost. Mostly it will make your thinking a little clearer, and you may feel your mind is a little sharper. By the way it seems to work for all ages. Best dose appears to be about 25mg Zinc per day with 1mg Copper per day.

Zinc is called the "growth" mineral - but that doesn't mean it's just for kids. Zinc is essential at every state of life for growth and development.
Zinc works with at least 70 different enzymes which perform a wide variety of essential functions throughout the body
Zinc is also necessary to form tissues such as skin, organs and bones. Zinc promotes taste
Zinc plays and important role in the health of the skin. Associated with wound-healing, zinc is most critical in the latter part of the healing process when the epidermal layers are healing.

Quite possibly!
There is a severe vitamin & mineral deficiency, called Pyroluria, that requires MEGA-doses of the vitamins B6, Zinc, and the Essential Fatty Acid (Omega-6).
Once the individual is no longer DEFICIENT in these "key" vitamins & minerals, the body has a better chance to focus and less stress is being placed on the body.
ADHD, amongst many other neurological disorders, is simply a SYMPTOM of the underlying DEFICIENCIES.

I don't think there is a pill to make anyone smarter. You get smarter by learning--plain and simple. Apply your brain power.
