Yes, I do realize that I need tickets (which I already have), but the tickets do not guarantee seating. I heard a rumor that some people sleep on the sidewalk, any truth to that?!

I heard that you have to get there at like 3-5 a.m. to get in the front...if you really want to get on the show i suggest getting there at 1 or 2 a.m. to guarantee you get on the show

It helps a whole lot if you can go with a group of people-ask everyone to form a group of at least 15. Not only do you have priority seating, often get a hello from Bob, you also have a later check in time. I went with a friend and we showed up at 6 A.M. to only wait till the very last minute to see if they had seats for us. I think we were like 300, 301 in line.
Also, if you can, take public transportation or carpool, there is no free parking in the Grove parking lot. We paid $12 dollars with a 2 hour free validation from Nordstroms. Get your ticket validated right before you leave so the free 2 hrs doesn't expire.
You can park on the street, but it pretty seedy down there and I can't guarantee there would be a spot, we never tried.
There is a concession stand next to the audience waiting area-prices are okay, but just bring a little bag of munchies if you are cheap. Remember, you want them to pay you, not the other way around. Bathroom is nearby too so feel free to drink up while waiting, just go before you go before the producers, no time after that really. Act crazy and plead your case why you need: car, money or vacation, plus if you are celebrating birthday, anniversary or ditching school.
Very Important
Bring a valid ID, the guy next to me just had a school ID on a key chain. He got NO ID by his number so that means he did not get picked.
When we went, almost every group had someone get into contestant row.
If you go when the weather is cold, keep your jacket for inside the studio, it is bit chilly if you get cold easily.
I had a lot of fun, especially with my friend, but I will only come back with a group to cut down on wait time and increase my chances of getting called down. :)

That is soooo awesome! Good luck ! I hope you win tons of stuff!
As for seating, I'd get there EARLY! 10 p.m. night before, just to guarantee your seat! The earlier the better! I'm not kidding! You ever waited in line for concert tickets?!??!? Ya? This is worse. Get there early & have a ton of fun!!

I had a friend who was on and actually made it as a contestant too. She said yes, that is true they line up the night before and the way you get on is to act like a total fool over emphasize your excitement. (that is if you want on the show too)
