a situation that made you think...why do they want a picture of this?

When I was in London outside of the British Museum this older Chinese couple who I could barely understand asked if I would take a picture with them!! Maybe they thought I was someone famous lol!! I took a pic with them
Oh oh and a week earlier in Paris some French guy IN A CAR took a randome pic of me and my friend walking! I tell ya my Euro trip was strange

Never had it happen. Asking that question of a stranger can bring out the worst in a small percentage of people. I think your chances of getting someone who won't steal your camera go up if you are in a well-lit and well populated area (a good # of people around). However, if you have a very nice camera or are especially worried about losing the camera as well as irreplaceable pics taken earlier, I would suggest a camera with time-delay and prop it somewhere or get a tripod.

I would think it odd if a stranger wanted to photograph me in any situation.

Yes.. I don't find it odd in the sense that the scene, the person and the lighting all mixed into something the photograhper wanted to capture but the 'why me' question clanged in my head as odd in itself. Maybe I am more open-minded then some!

Yeah me and my sister were walking around in san fransico and this guy came up to me and asked if he could get some pictures of my hands and as a joke I asked him, "How much will you pay me?" then he said, "$100" and i did it i still have the 100 dollar bill he gave me. Isn't that weird?

yes...I had a guy ask me once if he could photograph my feet....I had open toed sandals on with my nails painted red....he wanted to take pictures of me walking through the grass, walking in peanut butter, walking in grape soda.....then he wanted to keep my pics for self gratification....
Said he would pay me $200.00 for the pics....I was pregnant with my daughter at the time....I was not too keen on the idea...I turned him down...
That was too creepy.....

yes, a guy photographed me when i was on a balcony at work. but i know the reason. i was wearing a short skirt and he was down in the street. lol.

once I was on a relatively empty train platform and I heard "click click" and I turned around and this guy was taking pictures of me! I said "excuse me" and he ran away. weirdest ever.

Yes, when I was 6 years old. Looking back I think it was rather strange. It might have been some perv...I don't know.
