Im just curious what the rest of the country feels like when they are watching their local late night news, and a story about a fight or shooting that took place in a school happens and the news interviews some students and apon their mouth opening to answer the reporter...that "stupid" voice is quickly heard. Where the young adult talks sort of like..."i was like oh my god, i couldnt believe they done that to her." Im in L.A., now that just might have something to do with that, cause the majority of the students thay I see this problem is with hispanic students. But at the same time not just hispanics, other races as well. But how about you, have you seen what I am describing here? I ask this because its just so sad, because these kids are...sadly the future of our world...Im 23...and just very curious about other peoples input.

Maybe the intelligent ones just know enough to keep their mouth's shut.

I can see by your s/n that you are part of the problem. And by your command of the written word, you have no right to complain. A person 23 years of age should be able to compose a comprehensible paragraph. Perhaps students in America are severely lacking (and they are). However, the media doesn't look for the intelligent answer...they want the emotional one. Unrest and hysteria make for better ratings. This is why you seldom see the "good" news, only the dark side of everything. "Bad" news sells. And if they can't find any, they will often orchestrate it or totally fabricate it themselves. Some publications that are read the world wide are better fictional entertainment than a reliable source for responsible news (the New York Times comes to mind). This applies to network journalism as well.

firstly, more than half the students are C grade or below counting the ones that drop out early.
Secondly, maybe we are all watching too much TV, listening to ipods, and playing on the computer. Instead of reading, talking with each other, and learning what the schools have to offer. Putting up with dumbing down curricula to keep stupid people from being "embarrassed" or failing and never finishing 4th grade until they are 15 and being trouble makers. Affirmative action is a big contributor to this. Pushing people ahead just because of their age and not their abilities.

It's everywhere. I live in VT and we have almost entirely whites here and they ALL sound stupid. I worry about the future when I hear these kids speak. It won't be long before they're voting and having their own families and businesses and all. It's quite a statement about the education system isn't it? What the hell are they teaching? Kids can't speak, write, do math, know basic history or anything else so what ARE they learning? It depresses me.

im 20 and stay in Oklahoma (Edmond, close to OKC). the regularly occurring public of my friends have very sturdy grammar and are clever human beings. the two i do no longer stay close to the climate the place those styles of folk stay (Edmond is the homestead of a superb sized college, UCO, and has yuppie families gallore) or the media likes to coach the idiots on the information. probable the latter. additionally, i think of those human beings are the styles of those that seek for to be on television and are in touch interior the styles of issues that finally end up on the information. the rest individuals have greater valuable issues to do with our lives. there grew to become into this fool lady who lived in my fatherland. she grew to become into the mummy of a woman in my youthful sister's classification. she grew to become into constantly on the information for something random. it grew to become into so embarassing to have her representing us each and all of the time. it wasn't incredibly that small of a city, whether it had the stereotype of being one. so of direction having her characterize us did us no favors whatsoever! it bothers me whilst human beings from different countries think of we are all basically fat idiots over right here. the regularly occurring public individuals are not stupid. if we've been, how would our united states of america be between the richest ones interior the international?

I often wonder if 'On the spot reporters' do a mini American Idol, to pick out the people they want to interview. Maybe they want to perpetuate some kind of urban myth linking violent crime and 'stupid' sounding people. I don't know.

well that is a sweeping generality...BUT i happen to agree with it! i don't think most american students are idiots (altho i'm sure some are) they are probably just more interested in sounding hip or cool and in doing so they come across as idiots. you know what i mean; peppering their speech with a lot of "likes", "ya knows", "totallys" and of course the ever-stupid "you know what i'm sayin'"! most are just products of the hip hop culture which is so pervasive today.

Ever wonder how the news were exposing the misery of those poor children were having communication problems in planet of apes?
Ever wonder what were the viewer were doing and not solving their misery in planet of apes?
Ever wonder why we let them continue living in misery in making a monkey out of themselves in planet of apes?
Ever wonder why we were blind as a bat hanging upside still living in caves and not solving the blunders and slip-ups with human errors in planet of apes?
