Depends what you want. It has the worst traffic system in the USA bar none and there are some areas that I would not send an enemy to, but if you stay on the North side of the city, then it is much better.
Atlanta has lots of good and bad. It is dirty, except in certain places. It is educated, except in certain areas. It is just like any other city that is big and urban, but less clean and less of a clue that they are not clean. There are terrible underhanded deals that go on in the local governments and the people seem blissfully unaware, but, there is also a lot of world class entertainment, shopping, restaurants, museums, and music to be had here. The final decision is up to you.
I live here because my wife lives here and she already owned our house. I used to live in Dallas, which I liked better, but the scenery was hell there. Within 3 hours of Atlanta you can be at the ocean, in the mountains or in the woods. Atlanta is a great central point for all sorts of adventures!
Good Luck!

I considered moving to Atlanta a few times, but kind of hard to find employment. Traffic is very heavy, if you're use to living a sort of fast lifestyle, you can fit right in.
I have to agree with a few others as far as the environment.
The social circle and night life in Atlanta is tops, but when its time to lay your head down, think safety and live outside of Atlanta!

Atlanta is a terrific city. But depending on where you're moving from, the heat and humidity can be daunting until you adjust. People are friendly, transportation is very easy, cost of living is surprisingly affordable. Lots to do, places to go, people to see. Shopping is unbelievable. You can spend weeks just discovering how many Peach Tree streets there are. LOL Good Luck!!

yes and no. I have lived in metro Atl my whole life (27 yrs). I work in the city. Its okay in the city in certain neighborhoods, if you can afford it! Its best to live outside the city in metro atlanta. There are way to many people here though. Try Birmingham!

It is a very big city, so that will depend on whether you are ready for city life. I live in a small town, so I don't know how I'd do there. It all depends on the person.

Depends on what part of the city you are moving to & how much $$ you have. The outskirts are much nicer than the city.
