I agree with one of the other poster's about the chiro. Sometimes they can work wonders! Try to find one who is familiar with something called the Webster Technique. Can come in very handy. As for anemia, besides eating leafy greens and other iron rich foods, try a supplement called Floradix. You can find it at your health food store or online. It's not cheap, but it's great for boosting your iron without all the nasty side effects of pills. The iron is from food sources so it will be absorbed well and won't bind you up. For the leg swelling, try taking baths in epsom salts. About a cup per tubful should do it. Also up your protein intake (meats, eggs, some cheese, beans). I hope some of this helps and you can get some relief with this one!!

How do you feel about alternitive medicine? I had a terrible headache that put me in the er the other night. It was the worst ever, the doc told me to take ibuprophen, and it didnt help at all. I went in for a massage that day and it was instantly gone. For me it was caused from tension, and I went to the Chiropractor today, and he finished the job, he said my neck is so badly out right now its going to take 3 visits to get it adjusted properly. I know that not everyone is into the chiropractor, but it is compleatly safe while pregnant, just make sure that they do pregnancy chiropractic. I was reading a sign while I was there and it was saying that if you tell them, they can help with carpal tunel. They will also give you excercises and help with the sciatica. As for the anemia, I havent got any sugestions other than taking iron. Good Luck

Hee, hee, I feel like that too! I had anemia and took Repliva, that went away and then I failed the glucose test and had to take the second one (I passed it). Then my blood pressure was high, but not high enough, so I was monitored for that and now it is way low. I also had migranes in the second trimester, I had them before I was pregnant but they went away in the first trimester. I do have an incompetent cervix but so far so good, I have made it to term. I recently developed insomnia due to restless leg syndrome and tingling in my hands, but that is going away now too.

I feel like a pregnant hypochondriac - I have "almost" had every complication there is. Maybe my ob is just extra careful, I think I will go nuts if he makes me do one more test! I am 37+ weeks...

Good luck and take care! I am sure you are fine, I think it just hits some women harder. I have learned to laugh at myself, that's for sure!

I beleive it does unfortunately. I'm 38weeks pg with my 4th baby and I too have anemia and a few other things that have developed, each pregnancy does take it's toll on you body but unfortunately there is not much that can be done about it. So know there is nothing wrong with you. Chin up your not alone and good luck.

Every woman handles pregnancy different. For some it can be joyous and others miserable. If your doctor feels everything is OK, and you had 2 healthy normal births then I would not worry.

I am sorry you have all those problems though... Best of luck with you and hang in there! :)

if your doctor thinks its normal then im sure its fine...but my doctor checks me every time to make sure my legs arent swollen..and asks me if i have had any headaches and i dont..i think thats maybe b/c i am at risk for pre-term labor and your really not suppose to have those symptoms...and if your anemic like me! your doctor should prescribe you to an iron pill! b/c when you give birth and your still anemic..you will most likely need a blood transfusion..b/c of all the blood you have lost! soo take those iron pills!! and i suggest if you are still having those symptoms go to another doctor just for a second opinion! it wont hurt!

It sounds like to me that you are just one of those people who have really hard pregnancies. I have been blessed to have only heartburn and mild swelling during this pregnancy but I have heard horror stories from friends and what happened during their pregnancies.

The only thing I can see that is wrong with you is your perception of yourself during this time. All of these are normal conditions during pregnancy. You're doing great! Hang in there.
