ive been studying he indian tribes but all i know about their headwear is the soldiers part. but i want to know more about the rest of the tribe. i know the warriors werent the only ones to wear them can help me by telling me who else wore headwear n if u can y they wore it.

Well, that's because expressly distinctive head gear is the province of elites, Political, societal, military and spiritual. That is generally true everywhere not just among Native Americans. On that topic, just what Indians are you referring to and when? Fashions among the people change over time. Woodland and south Atlantic peoples dressed differently than Great lakes people and the later Plains cultures differently still. And for really grand head gear that eclipses even the grandest plains headdress, look to the peoples of the Northwest and Alaska.

On a daily basis most folks probably just dressed their hair and went about their business. Most headgear was carefully made and decorated for specific high status occasions. Such as war, religious ceremonial, courting, conferencing, treaty making, trading and hunting. They were decorated to identify the wearer as to status, family, clan and individual talismanic significance. (a personal totem spirit say) It may have held charms for safety, courage, success and let us not forget, simply because it looked damn fine.
