year. My ex had a power of attorney drawn up that ended this coming August. In December , he decided to go for full guardianship but she would not sign his paperwork.
She went to a lawyer and revoked the power of attorney. She went to his residence with this paperwork . The deputies advised that the paperwork was legal but advised her to wait and come to court Monday afternoon. She did but they awarded them
temporary guardianship anyway. They will all go back to court in June for the final hearing.She was not prepared with an attorney ( this all occurred in another state
from where we live). She felt that it was all one-sided and that the judge didn't even
listen to her. She served the power of attorney and revoked theirs so ...........
What should our course of action be now? Help us....

Get a lawyer in the state where the case is being heard. Get one now! June is not that far away and the lawyer will need time to prepare the case.

If you can not afford a lawyer, seek one though various organizations that help women and those in finacial need with legal problems.

The state bar (a lawyer's organization) should have a list of attorneys in the area that specialize in family law and custody cases. The bar will have an office in the state capitol (not a government agency) and there might even be a county bar if the population is large enough to support it. Ask the bar for the lawyer with most experience in this type of case.
