I think he was for real. If he wasn't he would have had a real bad second half...but he didn't. Just a late bloomer and a solid player for the Marlins. Not bad for a Rule 5 guy.

he's a fluke. if you look at his past numbers in minor league ball, he never had a season even close to what he accomplished at the major league level. many 1st year players have great 1st years and then slump tremendously because major league pitchers/coaches are smart; they realize the weaknesses in a batter. that's why you saw uggla slumping later in the year because the pitchers have caught up to him. he might be a decent 2b for years to come, but i doubt he'll have another season like he did in 2006. track record shows that he just had a career year in 2006.

I watched about 80% of the Marlins games last year. I think he's the real deal.
