You win some you lose some...but...
The key is to find a collaborative SOLUTION to the issue.
Try to leave the disagreement with your integrity intact.
It's more important to help the relationship instead of harm it.
Most negotiations end up compromising in the middle.
What's your goal? To win? or to "make it better?"
You decide.

Why do anybody has to win? Is it a game?
Spouses should love each other and compromise. There's nothing like winner or looser.
Are you keeping score? That is not love then.

I always gave my spouse the illusion of control. I would simply ask her what will it take to just get you to go away? If it was reasonable she got it. But when I said that was that she would just be quiet and did not push the issue.

I believe it will hurt you sooner or later. You're already questioning. Which is a strong indication you're not comfortable with it. And I would expect that in time you'll begin to feel taken advantage of.....And the 'winner' will in turn think less of you for never standing up for yourself.

One spouse cannot be right all of the time. Stand your ground and learn to accept that sometimes you win and sometimes you lose.

Sounds like you already know the answer to your question. What will happen is you will build up resentments toward your spouse. Resentments are like death to any relationship.
