summersweet looks like it would be evergreen.

is a type and sole genus of the Clethraceae; deciduous shrubs or small trees: white alder, summer-sweet.
The botanical name for sweet pepperbush or summersweet.

It would seem that some are, but not easy to find which species. Found at least one place that says summersweet is deciduous though.
