first of all the rockiness of ur garden will not slow anything down that grow in the bottom of the earth, down at all because the roots will spreed under neather, i am thinking along the lines of vinca Major they will maintain more sunlight as they grow,with the expansion of thier root system..more or less along the plants vina Minor is best if it grows in shade...
