There are a few true-life most shocking moments that were being televised that come to my mind:
1. The assassination of President John F.
Kennedy during the Dallas motorcade ride
2. The assassination of Bobby Kennedy during
either a press conference or rally.
3. The Hindenburg Disaster.
~ and perhaps most shocking ~
4. Witnessing the 2 planes crashing into the Twin
Towers of the World Trade Center on 9/11.
Kinda' makes "Desperate Housewives" and "Jerry Springer" shocking moments seem very trivial, no offense ...

Seeing the Twin Towers collapse on live TV was certainly shocking. Or learning of President Kennedy's assassination. And Robert Kennedy too. I hardly think Jerry Springer even qualifies for shock value. More like schlock value. Schmaltz. Far more important and monumental things have occurred on television than talk shows or serials.

Until 9-11 it was the murder of Lee Harvey Oswald on TV
But, watching those towers come down on live TV is the absolute king of all shockwaves that I have witnessed on television---- sitcoms and TV drama is like watching a puppet show to me--- It holds no value at all--- it is white noise !!!!
