let's say these suspicious minorities step into my property or go into my backyard uninvited? Can I go get my shotgun and finish them off? Do i get off scotch free? I'd say I have some right in terms of selfdefense. it's kill or be killed. who knows what these people are capable of. just a scenario. I wanna know what rights I have, and if I will get in trouble doing that.

First of all, it's funny you would use the term, "suspicious minorities". I was a law enforcement officer for 23 years, I recall having plenty of suspicious "majorities" in jail also! Do you think crime is based on race? You've been duped if you think so. But that aside...

If a person is on your property univited, you CANNOT get your shotgun and "finish them off." You would be charged with murder. You would not get off scott free.

If a person was armed and was an iminent threat, and you had a weapon immediately at your disposal, you could defend yourself. But if you had to go back into your house to get the weapon, you would also have time to dial the phone for police assistance, barricade yourself in, or find an avenue of escape. The only way you're going to be justified in killing someone in self defense is to prove that you had no other option but to use lethal force. If other options were reasonably available to you, and you opted to use lethal force anyway, you would be charged. If your life was in immediate danger, and you defended yourself in a reasonable manner, chances are the grand jury would clear you.

It sounds to me like you're a little too anxious to pull the trigger. And that attitude might get you a long haul in the penitentiary. Think it over. Don't hold such a cheap value on another human life.

Depends on what state you live in. In Texas the answer is a big NO! Currently the only way you can legally shoot someone is if they enter your home, at night. Even then you are still required by law to try and flee the home. If you do shoot someone you are going to have to prove that you believed your life or the life of your family was in danger.

If a suspicious minority stepped onto your property you can't shoot them. You must call the police (at least in Texas).

Legally, you can order them off your property.

If a child runs on to your property to retrieve his ball, would you shoot them? You might not like your neighbors, but you have to give a little to keep the peace. The police will not be able to protect you from civic outcry and backlash if you start shooting people for coming on your property.

Um, yes. You will get in trouble. That would be murder.

If someone breaks into your house and you shoot in self-defense, you wouldn't get in trouble. However, inviting them into your house just so you can shoot them doesn't count.

FYI, you may want to work on your tolerance. Us whitey-white folks are capable of a lot of crime, too.

Maybe if you have a gun and you have a permit to use it for self-defense. Otherwise, if you don't have the permit, you could aim it, not loaded, at the intruders and they shouldn't stay around. If necessary, chase them off the property using the gun.

No, they didn't do that even in the old west. Self defense is when someone is trying to harm you with a deadly weapon, and even then your going to have to prove it.
