We had some freezing rain tonight and I wanted to get some ice off my car, I tried opening the frozen passenger door to get the ice scraper and pulled very hard thinking the ice would break before the door handle would come off. Should I try superglue or is there a better solution? I don't really want to take it to a garage, its my back door on the passenger side which is very rarely used anyway. Any help with this problem is greatly appreciated and thank you very much for your input.

You will have to replace it eventually. But to prevent the doors from freezing. When the car is warmed up and the door can be opened without breaking anything, rub a thin layer of Vaseline on the part of the rubber seal that come in contact with the door frame. This will prevent the doors from freezing to the frame

Try using superglue first or using melted metal to bond your handle together.

Use Epoxy as a cover over the bonded handle as reinforcement to prevent breaking.

If neither works, you need a new door handle. Try going to a car parts place like "Pic and Pull" and find a replacement. Or get a new door.

No you'll have to take it to a garage. Eventually you will run out of operating doors, at the rate you are going. They will need to replace the handle from inside the door.

Well what car? go online, you can find a replacement for mosts cars that run under $50, and install yourself in spring. Until then don't open the door.

Let me guess. You drive an Eclipse?
This happened to my mama last year.
The dealership can replace the doorhandles for about $100.
