I was in Gander Mountain the other day with a friend who's is a die hard Republican and we were there so he could get him some ammo. They were out of the stuff he wanted and the clerk said that because of the "Patriot Act" the store could not ship the ammo anymore from one store to another or directly to his house, that he would have to wait several weeks for a new shipment or drive to the next closest store that had it. He turned beat red because this is Bush's Patriot Act. He is always complaining about Democrats taking away his gun rights. Is this true, Is this part of the Patriot Act and does it infringe on his 2nd amendment rights? Should the NRA get involved with bringing down these Republicans and their anti 2nd amendment rights?
Oh yeah, and I will never let him live this one down.
Is there any Bush supporting NRA fanatics out there that would like to answer this question for me?
He wanted to buy a can of black powder for reloading his own shells..........denied by Republican policy. What a hoot, I wish I would have had a tape recorder for that one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They should figuratively castrate the Republicans for encroaching on their second amendment rights. The Second Amendment is entitled to as much respect as Freedom of Speech or banning Involuntary Servitude. There is nothing in the language of the Second Amendment which says, in effect, "oh yeah, this amendment is less important that the others and isn't worthy of as much consideration."

It is not a part of the Patriot Act. The clerk was BSing you guys. Please don't call NRA supporters fanatic's. We are determined to keep the American People's RIGHT to Bear Arms, as we were granted by our forefather's who knew what government control was like. We will not be controlled by government, that is why we have guns. That was the intent by George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, John Hancock, and the others. I am so sorry you would rather be controlled and told what to do, and how to live by your elected officials. That is not their job, they are there to do as WE The People desire, not what they personally want, and if they don't, We The People have the means to kick their butts!
The Liberals told everyone on Yahoo Answer they didn't want to win the war on terrorism. There was a question posted about it a few weeks ago, and most of the Liberals answering said no, they didn't want to win. Yeah, right! Liberals just LOVE America! Not! I think they hate US more. It is Republicans that keep the free spirit, and heart of America pumping!

The constitution guarantees a right to bear arms... didn't say that they had to be easy to get them or the ammo. If the Patriot Act did place this restriction on ammo then more power to it. Its the price we all have to pay for all the wackos in the world today. Btw ... most of the wackos are Democrats. The Democrats want the US to lose the war on terrorism.

Perhaps ammunition and gun powder are different matters? I recently ordered ammo from Cabela's and had it shipped to the house. There are numerous online ammo stores that will gladly ship ammo to you, no problem.

The NRA has sold out the American people. Why would you support them? The better organization is the Gun Owners of America.

Absolutely YES! I am a liberal but very pro-NRA. Why? Because I believe in the Constitution and will fight for the rights within it... one being the rights to bear arms.
With that said, more ppl need to think of it in terms of the constitution and not the party... meaning to stop letting a party get away with stuff like you mentioned just because you THINK they are on your side.
