What are your initial impressions when the hear the following names: Aubrey and Alana?

I was trying to think of a good answer, but honestly the first thing that popped into my head was.. "pretty". I like Aubrey better than Alana..don't know why though.

I have a best friend Aubrey and she is the greatest. I don't know anyone named Alana, but I like it.

I like Aubrey. I don't much care for Alana, just for the reason I have not heard too much.

Fantasy novels. Aubrey is a vampire, Alana is a lady warrior (they're the names of characters from books by Amelia Atwater Rhodes and Tamora Pierce) ... but, that association aside, I really like those names =)

Aubrey makes me think of Dora the explorer, and Alana makes me think of sophictacation(sp)
They are both really pretty name, this is just what my initial thoughts were when I said each name.

Alana is pretty, Aubrey is more of a boys name than a girls, if girls names are what you are going for, but I like both.

Aubrey.. I think of the singing group, Bread, and their song by that name..
And Aubrey was her name,
A not so very ordinary girl or name.
I used to LOVE that beautiful song when I was in high school...
Alana... I think of an athletic person.. I don't know why... I just do.

Alana makes me think of Tamora Pierce books. Alana of Tortall is the heroine of 4 of her books, and IMHO, not a bad role model for a little girl.
I just plain don't like Aubrey.

I think of Alana Morrissett and Aubrey makes me think of Audrey Hepburn for some reason. Anyway their both cute names.
