There is a small cadre of people in Iran who believe the US will attack Iran with in a year. Pressure from Israel, and the United States deep involvement with Israel the likely hood of an attack happening is very high. Iran is on the Israeli list of countries that might threaten the state of Israel. Most people here in the United States are being told that there are no plans for attack on Iran by Robert Gates. In fact the United States is prepared to do just that. We currently have two Nimitz class carrier groups stationed very close to Iran, also Bush has not discounted any action should Iran prove to be a threat. What constitutes a threat is not yet clear immediate or long term in nature. I believe Israel is prepared to go it alone though because of the disconnect between our intelligence agencies. Israel cannot afford to let Iran have a nuclear weapon, and has thousands of agents now inside Iran, and throughout the Middle East. Many of these agents have already penetrated the Iranian government, know its plan for producing high grade uranium. Many of the sights are in fact being monitored closely by the Israeli intelligence agencies. So Iran has a vested interest in Iraq because of its geographical location, primarily.

They have been the sole source of unrest the last 2 years. Iran does not want Iraq to be a strong nation with any type of western values, and they will do whatever it takes to make it hard on the US and Iraq government.

this is what the government says about who is fighting there... personnel wise... estimates... it basically says around 1,300 foreign fighters, including al-queda, Iran, Syria or any other nation... so that's not that many...

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/11/16/AR2006111601509.html

I have seen some links that says they are using Iranian weapons, but the weapons black market in the middle east is huge and who knows what came from where and if Iran even knew where the weapons were going... but it's something to keep in mind...

they think al-sadr went to Iraq to stay with family there, but they aren't positive where he is... could be a cover for talks with Iran? who knows... sources on this are pretty sketchy...

and a general pace said that there is no evidence Iran is arming Iraq...

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/17129144/

so basically, it seems that there is some circumstantial evidence that may support some involvement, but no actual factual links and no evidence...

the answer seems to be "maybe" and we don't know to what extent

Arms terrorists! Provides them safe haven! Stirs up the conflict between Iraqis! Use diplomatic tactic to drag the neighbors of Iraq to Iran's side... Anything that could cause troubles for US troops so that make our people force the government to take our troops home!

None. These are probably trumped up charges or false flag operations to get the American people prepared for an unnecessary war with Iran.

There is no War on Terrorism! It's all about control! Stop believing the lies! Investigate 9/11! It was an inside job! A self-inflicted wound!

i think iran is fighting for what they percieve as being a freedom fighter. they are supporting their brothers in a time of war just like the west supports each other in murdering innocent muslims!
