My daughter is a sophomore in high school and there are about 25 students at her school that are pregnant right now, not to mention the ones that already have babies. She has 6 girls in her science class alone that are expecting. What is wrong with these kids?

I agree with you, I am 27 and was pregnant at 17, I love my oldest son, but I wish I would have let myself grow up more before I had him, I was eighteen when I gave birth to him, but being so young it was hard for me, I had to give up my freedom, my friends, and my carefree years were over. I love my little boy and we have a great relationship but I would tell any young girl that wanted to have a baby to wait, theres plenty of time to play house, have fun and enjoy being a kid while you can, being a mother is a full time job and you cant just say I don't feel like it right now, or I quit. My son was colic when he was a baby so I had a really hard time. It was a big reality check!

It's really sad isnt it, I just graduted last year and I can tell you during my junior year at least ten freshmen girls got pregnant. The worse part of that is there was a school for pregnant girls attached to my high school. So these girls would just transfer and you'd see them walking proudly with huge bellies.

Most of it comes from not having proper direction or motivation at home. Watch out for your daughter though.

That is TOOOOO young~~~we parents need to invent something that keeps the girls and boys from doing sex. Like something that gives them a shock if they get too close or an alarm goes off. They should have a tiny metal put in their skin to detect the tiney shock or an alarm. I think it would work~~~the teens can't know where the metal is located in their skin. Teens are not mature enough to take care of a baby~~they are still growing up~~they are still kids themselves.

Because they want to grow up too fast- they are not being given an opportunity or chance to be a child and witness the beauty and innocence of the idea of it; the outside peer pressure and media dictates how they should behave, and unfortunately they don't see themselves for who they really are- I find it tragic. Teenagers should be allowed to be teens and experience what they can but this also means accepting responsibility along the way, being cautious of actions and educate themselves. These are just MY opinions on the matter and I thank you for listening to my words.

It all comes down to the school system and their inability to teach sex ed. They are too afraid to be inapropriate or say anything out of line. They try to teach abstinence and make the kids sign abstinence pledges, but do you really think a little piece of paper is gonna make them not have sex. Teenagers are gonna have sex whether you like it or not, the key is to teach them how to have safe sex. Most kids dont know how to properly put on a condom so it stays on. Most kids these days dont even use one and thats why kids are getting pregnant. I dont mind them still teaching abstinence, but they need to teach the kids how to properly have safe sex, and what is going to happen to them if they get pregnant.

well here in Australia most young girls do it for the welfare payment here if you have 3 or more kids you get more than a weekly wage so there is no need to have to go to work
i don't blame the girls its the Aussie government that pays all this money that's at fault

Uh, because they're not practicing birth control? That cold be the reason. Because middle schools and high schools aren't giving them a real education.

they don't realize the responsibility in taking care of a baby till its to late they need more of those dolls that act like real babies ( wake them up at 3 am in the morning wanting changed and fed and rocked and god forbid they have colicky babies)

No one is responsible for their own actions anymore, so if a girl gets knocked up no one says you should not have done that. So then they go and get knocked up and feel like it is okay.
