get a new husband or take him to Dr. Phil's "Man Camp" for a little personality adjustment. You will NEVER be stable if you can't find a way to start saving. Your husband needs to help. If he does not want to, then perhaps there is a darker purpose in mind, as far as he's concerned. Perhaps he does not want you to advance in your life, for fear of you moving on to be with someone else who is CLEARLY going to be a better choice than him.

No. You're giving this man too much power over you. You need a plan in case the marriage ends. You should get a part time job or work at home and have your own money just in case.

Ha! How can you be financially stable if you don't bring home the bacon? What if things don't work out?
My fiance makes her own money, we have separate checkbooks. That way, if something happens to me or if things don't work out. I know she'll be alright because she has her own financial freedom/savings. We've been together for 13 years.
