It's as if MLK day is not enough. I can't wait until March when I can finally stop hearing about how "black is beautiful". Be black. Fine. Just shut up about it.

If we're all supposed to be EQUAL, why are there so many special months and interest groups for the so called "minorities"?
Everyone says they want to be equal, but they also want special treatment.
Instead of all the different history months, why not have American History Month and be done with it! You are all American, the color of your skin doesn't matter squat to most people, it's who you are that matters!

I think Black History Month should be changed to January. That way the MLK birthday/holiday would be a part of the month and it wouldn't seem like there were two consequtive months of Black History.

A teen accused of killing his classmate makes a plea deal. Today Louis Lindenfeld plead guilty to capital murder on Thursday to avoid the death penalty. Lindenfeld is accused of shooting his Midlothian High School classmate Allen "Chip" Ellis last May.
Ellis disappeared May 22 shortly after leaving the Midlothian Library. Investigators believe he saw Lindenfeld there and offered him a ride in his 2005 Nissan Sentra. Prosecutors say Ellis was then carjacked and killed. His body was found three days later in the trunk of his car in a wooded area off a dead-end road in eastern Henrico.

I agree. Who cares. What bothers me the most about it, is the fact that every year, in this month all the blacks run around whining about how they think they are still OWED something!

I told the local school district to stick black history month up their @$$E$ because my daughter came home a few years back with THREE MLK books and she didn't even know who George Washington was.
I told them to jam their BLACK crap straight up their @$$E$, in ALMOST those EXACT words. I didn't use the word BLACK.

It is sad when you turn on Vh1 and they are even honoring
Black History month.
I guess I never felt LL Cool J,Bobbie Brown,or P Diddy were important figures in Black History.
