How on earth is it that nobody's brought up the 'Peanuts' characters yet?

Still an okay name. Neither Violet nor Verena jumps out at me as being better with 'Lucy.'

Just don't name any boys 'Schroeder,' okay?

I think the name Lucy is perfectly adorable. And as far as being teased goes - I don't think so. There are going to be so many oddly named children out there when your daughter is growing up, she'll stand out because her name isn't spelled Lousea or something like that. :p

Anyway, back to your question, I like Lucy Violet. Lucy Verena is beautiful too, but Lucy Violet sounds cute enough for a baby but sophisticated enough for a woman as well.

Best of luck!

I like Violet. Not a fan of Lucy-she'll be teased her whole life in school and out of school. Why not call her Lucinda or another name that can be shortened to Lucy.

My aunt named her son Tommy and that was his name and he's 30 years old and still suppose to be Tommy-where's the class in that manly name. He goes by Tom now. My point is Lucy will one day be a 30 year old woman show her some class.

I think Lucy Verena flows better. The first is a pretty name, but is choppy. How about Lucy Vanessa?
