OK, here's my rather philosophical question. If a vampire doesn't have a soul, do vampires go unpunished for their evil deeds on earth when they die? One would assume that when a person is killed by a vampire, their soul would go to heaven, or whatever their version of heaven is, because they're an innocent victim and even if they're brought back as a vampire, they're dead and soulless. But if that's the case, vampires couldn't go to hell because there's no soul to make the trip. It wouldn't be fair for a heaven to hell soul transfer because the original soul was innocent. So does that mean there's no cosmic retribution for a vampire's evil deeds?

OK "Nella" and "The go to Guy": Angel (and Buffy) is Not "just a TV show" and "X" can think about whatever he/she wants. Joss and the other writing staff know their fans are smart and think about the mythology and they're meant to. Just because you haven't seen any Vampires doesn't mean they aren't real. Without any slayer senses you could have met one in a club for all you know or you could just be suffering from a case of denial like most Sunnydale residents. If X wants to believe in their heart - as I do - that Buffy/Angel and all that includes are real, then we will.
The only comment I can add to the question is another question: If the souls are already in Heaven or Hell (one would assume for a murderer in life turned vampire that their soul should go to hell) then how did the Gypsy's and Willow re-insoul Angel?
Assuming in Angel Season 4 the Orb of Thessulah trapped Angel's soul in it to stop it floating up to Heaven (using your theory) that still doesn't explain how the Gypsy's did it in the first place because the soul would have already been in Heaven and by your reasoning should have stayed there. And what about Fred? When Illyria scooped out her body it was said her soul was destroyed in the process so they couldn't bring her back, there was nothing TO bring back. She was an innocent victim so why didn't her soul go the Heaven?
Sorry, I haven't been much help:)

The soul of the person who was bitten goes to wherever it deserves, and the vampire is a soulless demon that takes control of the corpse.

The cosmic retribution for demons is, they have to be demons.

You are exactly right, except for the parts where you go it wrong. You do know vampires aren't real right?
