Benadryl will make your dog sleepy. (I understand it is sometimes given to babies before boarding a plane so they will sleep the entire flight!) I don't know what breed your dog is or how much she weighs, but you might try giving her only a half a pill. As a matter of fact, you might start by giving her only a quarter of a pill and if that does not work increase it to half. Do not give her more than the recommended amount by your vet. Read the caution label...do not overdose her. Allergies can be worse on some days than others. I had a cat who was allergic to pollen. On windy days the poor thing was miserable. On calm days, especially after a rain, she was fine. So, if your dog is not displaying any symptoms on any given day, don't medicate her.
