The lock is somewhat old, and the key won't come out. i've tried baby oil and that didn't work. i can turn it and lock and unlock it, but it just won't come out. any suggestions?

Some of the tumblers are either slightly rusted or worn in such a way as they aren't letting go of the key teeth. You've already oiled it. If its rust WD-40 or penetrating oil will be better suited than baby oil.

Get a small tack hammer or small ball peen hammer. What you want to do is push the key in and tap the lock face and immediately pull out on the key after the strike. You are trying to vibrate the tumblers loose. Should work best with the lock slit vertical. Try it turned upside down too, if you recall the key can be withdrawn in that position.

If you can wiggle it at all try graphite (available at auto parts stores and probably hardware stores too). When you do get it out treat the lock with graphite (works on the locks on my old car :-) Good luck!

You can buy IceDelock if its from ice but if its just from age, Id try silicone lubrication spray , both are available at any general or hardware stores

Try WD-40. Its worked for me before.
