You can't do anything. The only way you could get back child support is if you are still under 18. Most states limit that to only 5 years back child support.

My advice is get over it. My dad left when I was 14. Grow up and be an adult. If/when you have kids just be a good parent to them.

Your father left your mother not you. I can just imagine the stuff she said in front of you, things a child does not need to know about. Had she been able to get over the fact he left her to be with the other woman and concentrated on your exploded world she could have shared you with your father instead of keeping you to herself. I will be you a million bucks your dad would love to have you back in his life (no rehashing all that garbage your mom indoctrinated you with) What a shame ex wife's turn so bitter just because some man wanted another snatch.

If he paid child support to your mo, there there is not a thing legally you can do. he is fully allowed by law to divrce your mom and go elsewhere and live with whomeever he chooses.

If he did not pay child support, you can file against him for that.

OR you could talk to him and find out why he did what he did. You might find he's quite a decent person after all, and there were circumstances that you, as a child, had no way of knowing about or understanding.

Is his abuse documented through the courts and medical system? If there is no court order, then you are good to go. But if he should find you and try for custody, you moving like this will not look good towards you in court. The fact that you are on a computer asking this kind of information gives him ways to find you. This needs to be extensively planned out, and you need to be prepared to have no contact with anyone that he knows. Think carefully.

Sorry, there is no recourse to criminally charge him for being a dead-beat dad. But, if child support orders were in place at the time of your growing up - you may take that route to recover monies owed to you and mom. That will be a heck of a lot better, getting the monies owed to you and family from him. Good luck!

You can't file charges for him being a heel, a liar, and a jerk. Did he not pay support? You can pursue that legally, but the money will go to your mom to reimburse her.

You can sue anyone for anything, so you might be able to find a lawyer who will sue him for you, on breach of promise grounds.

Did you recieve child support from him, if not then you can go for that i guess. But you have no real case to sue your dad who leaves when you are little. I has the freedom to leave, its America

I doubt there is much you can do this late. It was his decision to leave your family, at the time it happened, your mother could have went for alimony if they were married or child support but it is too late for either now...

Back child support is about all you can get, if you can get that.
