MS is a master's of science degree. it is typically for the sciences, such as biology, chemistry, any for of engineering, etc. MA is for the liberal arts. Sometimes there can be confusion because MA includes the social sciences, such as political science, sociology, philosophy, psych, and econ. Sometimes economics can be considered part of MS too, since it can easily fall in either category. The difference between the 2 degrees isn't much since both are master's, they are considered equal. However, science degrees are usually more technical, therefore in more demand and pay more highly. Usually get a MS will get you a higher income than an MA, although there are certainly exceptions. MS programs are typically much more math/science oriented while MA programs are more writing and research oriented.

Master of Arts
Master of Science
The number of graduate credits were the same for both degrees at my university, but different majors were divided among the two categories. The main difference that I noticed was that all the math and science degrees were M.S. and the people who went for the M.A. had to take a foreign language.

i do not study masters...yet my college gave out a BA and a BS in biology. The BA grow to be a lot less credit than the BS. there grow to be no longer some thing incorrect with figuring out on one in each and every of the different yet in accordance to what container you needed to pursue you've been triggered to make certain on one or the different. i do not fairly understand how having one or the different would impact you on your occupation alternatives considering as a instructor the state basically needs me qualified. perhaps both ranges are diverse credit quantities.

It is what you want to do with it. MA is mostly like teachers while a MS is for someone in a field such as engineering and such that you go right into the field. You might or might not have to take foriegn language with either one, depends on the school and the program.
