Yes and no. He Could have helped us.. We possibly could have made a deal with him.. To help us fix or aid in fixing the problems over there..
His knowledge of his country would have helped us! He knows of every nook and cranny, every weak spot. He's also Muslim and that might of helped as well send the message that we are not out to harm them. The hanging.. I think maybe may have set us up for more problems.. But what do I know..
Then.. again. He didn't deserve to live. He was an awful human.. all in all I think we may have actually made the right decision.

He tortured and brutally killed thousands of his own countrymen (and women). He was caught, tried, and convicted by his countrymen. His sentence was then carried out by his countrymen. The laws were followed for a lawless man.
If they had decided to give him life in prison without parole, then Hussein's thug followers would have busted him free from prison and he would have continued his murderous campaign against his own people. He was a ruthless and brutal dictator. He chose his own fate by his actions.

little late to be worrying about it, don't you think???
but to answer your question, it just depends on who you ask.
If you ask a person who doesn't see the big picture...they will say "yes, the world is a better place because he is no longer part of it."
if you ask a Muslim terrorist, they would agree with that person because they just gained a Patron Saint of Endless War to be a role model for their children.
if you ask a person who realizes that killing the man did not kill his ideals, and therefor did not remove the bad part from the earth, they would say it was wrong, to immortalize his ideals like that.

A horrible man indeed, and how could we be 100% rid of him.
Still the fact remains that no one can decide who, when, or how someone should die except our Almighty God. When you put yourself in a position to do so you put yourself at the same level as God or above him and then you are guilty of idolatry.
Was it necessary...yes
Was it right...no

Go Away loser!!!!!!
Hanging Saddam was it right or not well what were we going to do with him? If we kept him his followers would just kid-nap our people and demand his release or they would execute the hostages. I don't know, but we should have never disturbed this bees nest in the first place.

Not right! Should chop off his both hands and legs, throw him into the drain, to stay with the rats! For the sin he committed, just hanged him is already letting him off lightly.

That depends on whose culture or level of civilization you grade the act on.
You see, in the Middle East, that is the norm. Here, that is is considered brutal and uncivilized.
