Most washers, if they don't say otherwise, are using cold water in the rinse and spin cycles. But actually, unless you are dealing with actual soil on your cloths, Hot water isn't needed. If I have soiled whites, I just scoop in some OxyClean and detergent, and set the wash to Warm. No problems. The Soap does most of the work, all the heat does is help disolve excess soil. My wife & I run a cloth diaper service, where clean white diapers are my buisiness, but we wash those in 180 deg water. Chlorine bleach will "rust" your cloths. Eliminate the Chlorine, replace it with Oxyclean (Sodium Percarbonate), and just wash whites in warm, cold for all the rest. Your cloths will be clean as ever, you will use less energy, and have hot water when you need it. Good Luck!

During the spin cycle the washer sprays the clothes with cold water only. It is to cool down the wash to lessen the chance of wrinkles. A water heater heats the water when the temperature drops below a certain temperature depending on where the thermostat is set. Your water heater has usually completely recovered it's temperature well before you are ready to start the next load.

a million) Draw a circle on the floor. (no longer an oval). 2) Draw a triangle around the circle. (Equilateral). 3) Now draw a line down the middle of the triangle, also dealing with the circle. (be particular that's immediately). 4) Say the words: DOBBY IS A loose-ELF! DOBBY HAS NO MASTERS! 5) Dobby the homestead-elf will look out of nowhere, do no longer be alarmed he's an elf and elves have magical powers that you may want to no longer understand. 6) Dobby will be so grateful that you want him to be loose that he will do your laundry for you. 7) For his amenities, I advise you provide him a sock or 2. (ideally bright and vivid). 8) Be prepared, Dobby will hug you and likely cry in happiness at your kindness. (that's completely perfect in case you cry too.) 9) After awhile, Dobby will take his bow and go away. (be at liberty to bow decrease back to him).

it depends if you have the water cycle set on hot or cold. I always set mine on cold.
