that it doesn't seem to desolve very well? I have used Surf for years and it used to be my favorite soap. It smelled great and cleaned well. I have noticed since it has All in it now, it doesn't clean as well and when I handwash, it is difficult to get all the soap sprinkles to desolve and sometimes there are some soap spots on the clothes when they dry. Surf used to be a good soap like tide and cheer but now it seems to be like the cheap detergents.

I'm glad you asked this question, as I thought it was just me. I used Surf for years as well - it was cheap and did the job with a good smell. Recently, it hasn't cleaned my clothes worth a darn, and the smell is less than desirable, so we've switched back to Gain. I use All Free for my baby's clothing, and notice that although it cleans well, the existing smells are still there. Now that she's a bit older, we've switched to Gain for her as well.

No, I hadn't noticed because I only use liquid Tide. I know it costs more, but over time it really keeps your clothes in better shape, both in color and wash wear, etc. If you buy quality clothes, it pays to just stick with an excellent detergent. Sorry about Surf going downhill, I hate when that happens to products I love. It happened a few years ago to my favorite conditioner, Aussie Moist. For handwashing all clothes including delicates, I totally recommend Woolite. It's already liquid, and like Tide, keeps colors looking good. Good luck!!

My mom used to use Surf all the time. My Grandma was in a nursing home and we hated the way her clothes were being washed (They still smelled like urine) so we would bring her clothes home and Surf was the only thing that took the urine odor out. I recently bought it because it was on sale and was really disapointed because it did not take the urine smell out of my bath mat when my two year-old decided to pee on it.

I have noticed that also and that is why I quit using it. I love Gain but it so expensive. I buy Purex or Arm and Hammer and my laundry comes out clean and smells good and the price is right. You can usually by a bottle of either one for under $3.00.

Nope ... I've always used Tide ... but, I sometimes had the same problem with Tide ... white streaks and specks of undissolved detergent. Argggg!!

I use Cold Water Tide now ... and haven't had anymore problem with it. The Febreeze scented Tide is nice. :)
