I have a friend who likes to pick at his dogs scabs, it almost seems like an addiction sometimes. Is there a name for this?

Maybe a little of OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder). I am like this on myself. I can't leave scabs alone. But on animals it is fur that I can't leave alone. When I see a husky or shepherd with those chunks of fur that are just hanging there I pull em out, and I can't stop. I think it is like an OCD thing with me. I can't help myself, and I end up making a HUGE mess.
