As far as gaming is concerned, the following formula applies, for what affects games, from greatest to lowest.

1. Graphics Card
2. CPU
3. RAM
4. Hard Disk speed, and space available

Unless you've grossly mismatched your system, (If you have a super video card but low RAM and a 7 year old hard drive), that's the formula to follow.

By looking at your system, I see that you have a very modern CPU, and A LOT of RAM, however, I see that your Video card is fairly old.

Go to tom's hardware and pick the 3rd-4th best card currently on the market. You'll get the best bang for the buck that way.

No question that the video card is the single-most important upgrade when it comes to gaming, especially in your case since you only have a GF 6100. Your CPU is in great shape, and so is the amount of RAM. One thing you might want to check in your BIOS though, is that your RAM is working in "dual-channel". Sometimes when you mix different sizes and brands, dual-channel gets disabled which severely handicaps your CPU.

Read this article on video cards and then decide what's best for you:

your pc sounds just like mine. we need a better graphics card as stated above but also a more powerful psu(power supply unit) to run it. if your's s like mine, it has a 300 watt psu. when you look at the graphics card, make sure to note the power requirements. i am looking at a geforce 7600 or 7900 as stated above and at least a 400 watt psu if not a bit more.
