I've recently started getting into jazz, but I would like some suggestions. Which jazz musicians are your favorites and would you suggest I listen to?

I'm finding I like female vocals and instrumentals the best.

Cole Porter, Miles Davis, and Billie Holiday are my favorites. :)
Edit: OH, I almost forgot one of the greatest: Pink Martini
What kind of jazz are you interested in? It'd be easier to give you suggestions if I knew what you liked most (i.e. female vocals, instrumental, nu age)

I am a jazz fanatic. Please consider my suggestions. I know its difficult to know where to start when finding jazz artists. The suggestions that I've listed are excellent for breaking into jazz. Also, I've been listening to jazz for a few years now, and these albums are still great.
PS- If you enjoy female singers I very strongly suggest the self titled album by Sarah Vaughan. Clifford Brown plays an amazing trumpet too.

Anita Baker does some really good things.
As far as instrumental, if you like guitar songs. go to youtube and search Scotty Anderson. You'll be amazed at how he can play.
There are many bands and solo artists you would like.
The rippingtons, spyro gyra.
Do a google search for jazz, many types of jazz out there too.
the possibilities are endless
