at his house stating they were having "bung hole soup" . what would be your first comment?

I have done a little research, and I can only find 2 meanings for the term "bung hole":
1) The plugged hole on a drum or barrel, often used to get the dregs of wine out easier.
2) The anus of an animal, often referring to the human anus.

This means he is either asking if you want to engage in a fetish sexual activity involving one or both of your anuses.

or

The eating of soup, of any kind, around the dinner table using very rare antique bowls and / or cooking pots that include a bung hole in the base to assist the server / consumer in accessing the dregs.

The bowls and cooking pots I refer to are so rare I couldn't find them on the internet, or I would have provided a link for you, but you may find them in some elderly people's homes, especially the poor and understaffed ones where residents feed themselves by connecting a straw / tube to the bung hole.

Regardless of which meaning your boss meant, my immediate response would be to ask for more information before officially responding to the original question.It is very often the case that people interpret different meanings to the meaning the asker intended, leading to potentially endless confusion and frustration, which can lead to much worse things (war, hate, suffering, murder).

The counter argument to this is that people can become frustrated by your asking too many questions about their question, and all they want is a simple yes or no. This makes dealing with other people properly a balancing act which is different for every person you interact with, which is damn near impossible because we are creatures of habit and want to be able to treat everyone the same. It's a hard life ....

The only other interpretation I can think of regarding the term "bung hole soup" is a soup made of the anuses of animals, but I can't imagine any family or society that would WANT to consume such a dish. These days the anus is added to the intestines, stomach and other otherwise inedible body parts to be put through giant mincers to be made into sausage and pie meat, and pet food. These separations are done at the slaughterhouse, so a butcher would have to request anus meat from the slaughterhouse company. I think we can agree a butcher would only do that if they received payment in advance in full from a customer demanding such parts. Lastly, to prevent disease from the bacteria in the feces, the anuses would have to be cleaned and cooked in an abnormally excessive and thorough manner, especially considering how much time it would take to tenderise meat that ... well used throughout it's life.

Soooo... to answer your question:
first, I'm male and straight, so I would thank him for the offer of sex but strongly indicate my lack of desire regarding participation.

Secondly, I'm vegan, so again I would thank him but strongly indicate my lack of desire regarding participation.

Lastly, I would be very keen to see one of these rare cookery and / or crockery, provided there is no meat or sex included in the menu or itinerary.
