i wasn't raised like most portugues'.. i was raised in madeira.. and someone with my skin colour (i have the mediternnean tint but im actually quite light) isnt even considered white. but i find that mainlanders consider themselves white and the majority of them are darker then me? i'm not like the celtic portugues' who are blonde or anything, but im definitely not dark.

what do YOU consider portuguese people? white? no?

1) As Fatima said, latino is NOT a race. A latino can be white. YYEEAAAHHHH!!! (and black too! and Asian!) A latino is anyone that was born in Latin America, what is not your case.

2) There is not such thing as race, you call yourself whatever you want, but for statistical reasons I'd call you white. Portuguese people are very diverse, as you said. Why should them be considered all from the same "race" (or whatever), if they're different? There's not something on their blood stating what race they belong too.

tsk tsk. How unhappy the vehement offal out of your mouth reeks racism. no remember if its white is right, or black is alluring, that's the comparable misinformed, biased , hate mongering drivel that often separates the races. The previous announcing a stable Indian is a lifeless Indian became no longer earlier spoken besides. you prefer hate and violence and each thing that is going with it to quit? Then as Micheal J reported " take a seem at your self and make the exchange". each race has its intercourse goddesses and Adonis figures, besides as its butt-grotesque trolls. each race has its Martian Luther's besides as its Hitlers. As a regulation prof in college asked the predominately white classification (he became African American) would you're taking my blood or coronary heart in case you have been death ? 4 individuals of the class spoke back interior the detrimental. I ask you to permit circulate of the detest, its long gone on too long. this is a maximum cancers which will weigh down your soul, my pal. peace- wolf

I consider people from Azores,Madiera, and Portugal to be white Europeans. This can be very tricky because I also know a whole bunch of white Portuguese who are from Angola and Brazil. But yes, generally speaking, the Portuguese people are white. This excludes Cape Verdians,Mozambiquans,Macaoans, and East Timorians.

i consider Portuguese people as Latinos. i'm Dominican, and i think anyone who speaks a derivative of a Latin is (shocker!) Latino. this includes, anyone who speaks Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, French. English is different, because it comes from German and other Norse languages.

i'm not basing this on skin color, because i know you can have dark or light Portuguese, Spanish, Italians, etc. There's something about the Latino culture that we all have in common, like dancing, culture, food, etc.

therefore, Portuguese = Latino in my book.
