Equal rights for everyone! I think gay marriage is just swell. Discrimination of any kind is terrible, but when it's against gays it's somehow socially acceptable. I mean, a guy could say something awful about a different race and get booed, but they could crack jokes about gay people and everyone laughs. If it's all in good humor it's fine, but there are some people who really mean it..
One of the basic tenants of our country is "equal rights for all mankind." Well, obviously that doesn't apply where the bible comes in. I have nothing bad to say about ANY religion. Only certain followers who try to keep others from being happy. They're people too, I don't get it. Treat them like they're people.
I'm also against the "well, let's let them get married but call it something else" idea. That's just another way of demeaning it; making it seem like something less beautiful and amazing that a straight marriage.
I don't understand how people can be so close-minded..

I would vote Yes but would I get married I don't know. that doesn't mean no other gay person shouldn't have the option of marriage if they want to marry.

Gay marriage all the way.... I don't really see a logical reason why it shouldn't be allowed. I mean, I don't think that straight people would be too happy if they all of a sudden banned heterosexual marriage.

Nay......... For thousands of years, marriage has been between a man and woman. The golden standard that society strives toward is marriage between and man and woman with a family. Children do best in this environment and so do the parents. Homosexual relationships are not natural and should never be compared to marriage. There are other ways to deal with homosexual relationships such as civil unions. Governments and Companies can choose to give similar benefits and married men and women. When you open marriage to homosexual relationships, you are diluting the value of families and redefining what a family is. There was a recent case that custody was given to two moms and a dad for a child. This redefinition is causing confusion, complexities and unnecessary litigations that are harming families and children. Why do we want to add more challenges to marriage and families than the current societal pressures?
