Took me a moment to understand ... "m
So when we say A and B are complementary, we're saying they add up to 90 degrees. Since we have the measures of both angles in terms of the same quantity x, it's easy to make a solvable equation for x. The (5x+8) that is m
Write this equation for x, collecting the similar terms, then solving for x. If you do it correctly, you'll get x = 13 degrees. Then just plug this back into your expressions for m
Double-check that you did it right by adding your answers to make sure they total 90 degrees.

Complementary means they add up to 90 degrees.

m 5x + 8 + x + 4 = 90
6x + 12 = 90
6x = 78
x = 13

No plug these in for your
m

since they're complementary, m so (5x+8)+(x+4)=90
6x+12=90
6x=90-12
x=13
so angle A is 5(13)+8 which is 73
and angle B is 13+4 which is 17

well since the angles are complimentary that means they add up to 90 degrees. so add the 2 equations and se them equal to 90 degrees.

m 5x+8+x+4=90
simplify.
6x+12=90
minus 12 on each side.
6x=78
divide by 6 on each side
x=13

substitute the 13 into both equations.
5(13)+8=m 65+8=m 73=m
13+4=m 17=m
