Okay, I'm just curious to know. How many of you believe in the traditional roles of women? (i.e. staying home, cooking, cleaning and raising the children, being seen and not heard.) Or How many of you believe in the modern roles of women? (i.e. having a career, being successful, being leaders, having a voice.) And why do you feel the way you do?

Ok.. I am, at the moment, studying and planning to have a career... but.. I know that once I get married and have children, I would like to be with them, giving them my full attention so as to not disadvantage them in any way...
So i guess I am 50/50... but I still want all those things that career women have.. independence, money.. etc..

I believe 50% of the traditional role as you state it. "being seen and not heard" is not how it is in most homes.
I believe 50% of the modern role, it's OK to have a career unless you use a lot of the paycheck to pay a babysitter, have a brand new car, have a bigger house, have a maid. Babies and children need to bond with mom as much as possible. A job should not be an escape from mothering or a way to keep up with the Jones'.

I went to university lived alone by more than 10 years, I had a job and earn my money and I was a modern girl right.?

Now I am a muslim, I am studying, and I will work but I wont have the pressure of earning money coz that is up to my husband...and about the house thing, we have now technology. So, I really think a middle thing is better for me, and for society coz once u have the time to rise ur children properly they will grow up with better chances of being happy and more responsible civilians...

I like the modern version of woman's role. I know ultimately it is her choice, but that kind of woman just seems more exciting to me.

It should be up to the women, both, either or neither.
