I like to play newer games.I will get laptop with a AMD CPU and ATI GPU.

get a desktop they are cheaper and better and you dont need a lapy for lan partys its not that hard to move a copmuter. i wouldnt get sli if i was buying a computer that wasnt top of the line because it is a waste of money

If you are a serious gamer, a laptop is a bad option for a lot of reasons, one of the biggest being that it simply costs more for what you get. But the biggest problem of all is that you are unable to upgrade your video card, which will become a problem in the future, especially when DirectX 10 becomes the standard, you will have no way of putting a DirectX 10 card in your laptop.

laptops are meant for travel not speed or the newest games. To stay up with new games you need to upgrade alot and upgrading a desktop can be done by any good local builder, stay away from the branded computers.

Unless you are planning on playing games where ever you go, I say you should get a lap top and build it yourself from scratch. This was you can get an extra hard drive just for the storage of games.
But if you are playing games every where you go, then you obviously need a lap top

Depends what you prefer. Lappys are nice, especially if you play games at a LAN party.
But desktops are cheaper and easier to upgrade, and have more expansion capability.

get a pci-e motherboard with SLI
get two bfgtech 7800 cards and rock and roll
