Why does Thomas Kleine wear a face mask during games?

I saw in pictures of him he wears a weird mask like hes the grim reaper or something.

its to protect his face..hes commin off some sort of facail injury...this is more common NBA, where ppl are always gettin elbows to the face

i am no sure but i think that he has just recovered from a skull or a nose injury......tis mask is actually for protection .......
