A proposed law limits marriage to couples who can have children?
Ok, so here's the deal. Orthodox marriage is between a man and a woman. Same sex couples obviously can't procreate. So, according to this proposed law, if same sex couples are being discriminated against because of their inability to procreate, heterosexual couples who can't procreate within a certain time frame would have to have their marriages annulled? This was on CNN Headline News online. Your thoughts please.

The proposed law was written deliberately to illustrate just how stupid the arguments against gay marriage are. The folks who are against gay marriage keep saying that homosexuality is wrong because it can't produce children, and that marriage is all about creating a home for children. This proposal illustrates just how ridiculous that is, and hopefully will help some people to understand that gay marriage is a simple civil right. It will also force the people who are against gay marriage to show how truly ugly they are and force them to admit that they just hate gays in general.

I think it is unrealistic, and it wont pass. But I applaude whoever thought of this law! When faced with logic, the religious zealots will go back to the good ole god hates gays. And then they will be seen for what they really are. Homophobic hate mongers! I think it is a great idea and I hope that it will show the world that denying gays and lesbians the right to marry is wrong!

The proposed law is against with the God's law.God instructed humans to get married if we have capability and abilty to do that. This marriage should occur between a man and a woman
,because God created men and women in order to love each other and give convenience to each other and also give birth kids for the next generation. So in line with islamic teahing a marriage is suggestion from Allah the only one God for the continuity of this world with its contents.God hates marriage between the same sex i.e between a man and other man(gay) or between a woman with other woman(lesbian).See the holy Qur'an about Luth prophet history..The marriage between same sex will not have kids and it is hated by Allah.Besides that the same sex marriages and several times having sex with several persons will make someone has a disease of HIV/AIDS.which is difficult to be cured.

This law is too ludicrous to pass. Lots of opposite-sex couples struggle with having kids, or they are medically unable to (like if the woman has a hysterectomy). And what if women get tubal ligations, or men get vasectomies? And what about elderly people who want to be married, but the woman is postmenopausal?

This is not a law to take seriously.

It was never actually meant to pass.
It does make a very strong and valid point and I applaud the people who started the idea.

I agree....It is so damn ludicrous..why not?. Marriage is not and has never been exclusively about children....Of course gays should be allowed to marry...that's the real question isn't it?
